Rich has been a long-time FileMaker author, developer and trainer. He has written the best selling book Special Edition: Using FileMaker Pro from Que Publishing and has been the recipient of two FileMaker Excellence Awards. He has been a featured speaker at many industry trade shows over the years, including the FileMaker Developer Conference, MacWorld Expo and Seybold Seminars. Rich is the reason the rest of the management team joined The Support Group.

Chad Novotny - Principal and Vice President, Technology

Chad joined The Support Group over 10 years ago and is a recognized FileMaker expert, specializing in high-end FileMaker systems design, web development, integration, and training. One of the first developers in the world to become a FileMaker 11 Certified Developer (as well as earlier certifications for 7, 8, 9 and 10), he is a FileMaker Authorized Trainer and has been a featured speaker at the FileMaker Developer Conferences. Chad lives in Cambridge, Mass., indoctrinating his young daughter and son as Red Sox fans.

Jeff Turner - General Manager and Vice President, Sales

Jeff has been involved in high tech sales and marketing for over 25 years. He spent 10 years at Apple Computer where he was a 4-time winner of the "Golden Apple" sales achievement award and set a company-wide record for managing the first team to ever exceed $100M in revenue. He spent 6 years at Media 100, Inc., a manufacturer of Mac and PC-based digital video/multimedia systems, most recently as their VP Worldwide Sales building direct and channel sales throughout the world. Jeff plays the drums, not very well, but he has fun.

Karyn Witzel - Managing Director, New York & Boston

Karyn has been working with FileMaker since version 2.1. She joined The Support Group after spending 4 years working as an independent FileMaker consultant. Prior to that she spent 5 years at Image Info, Inc., a New York City based company specializing in FileMaker software for the fashion and apparel industry, starting as a developer and eventually being promoted to Director of Development. Karyn also spent several years in the fashion industry, as Production Manager for a manufacturing company before moving on to work for an events producer on fashion shows. Karyn is taking ballroom dance lessons and she's really good!

Eric is a veteran consultant, trainer and team leader. Since 1989 he has been creating FileMaker solutions for companies such as Amgen, Apple, Cisco, Levi Strauss, LSI Logic, Mitsui, Schlumberger, Stanford Medical Center, and UC Irvine Medical Center, in addition to many small and mid-sized companies. Eric has held both technical and sales positions at FileMaker Inc., and senior level management positions at other high-tech Silicon Valley firms.

Julien Lafleur - Development Director

Julien Lafleur specializes in high-end FileMaker systems and training, having built systems for numerous clients including Hewlett Packard, Harvard University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and OxFam America. Julien has also instructed at Cornell, Harvard, the University of Michigan and the University of Minnesota teaching database development using FileMaker Pro. Julien volunteers his time working with children at Boston's Museum of Science.
