We’re asked to test and provide feedback on FileMaker versions before they are released to the public. We always know what’s ahead and bring valuable knowledge and insight to our development planning.
One of the requirements of the Partner Program is certification, and we have one of the largest teams of FileMaker certified developers in the world. Our years of experience in database development and website integration are reflected in the elegant and effective solutions we’ve built for our clients.
HOW WE DO IT
Our experience has taught us that the key to a successful project is communication. From your first contact with The Support Group, you’ll know that you are dealing with a group of true professionals who are responsive, experienced, and knowledgeable.
Our tested and proven method for approaching any project is a phased approach.
One of our senior consultants will work with you to determine your project’s objectives, define requirements, and design a solution uniquely tailored to meet your needs. The deliverables for this phase include the blueprint of the solution to be built and an estimate of the time and costs required to complete your project.
Using the blueprint designed for your solution, Filemaker certified developers will begin building your system. Our senior consultant, acting as project manager, will report to you on the timeline, budget, and progress of the work, and will conduct regular project review meetings with you. Throughout the development phase, you will be asked to test and provide feedback on the builds of your solution to ensure it meets your requirements. Your collaboration, testing, and feedback during this phase are essential to the success of the project.
After testing is complete, we will install, configure and test the solution with you. We will also prepare for any required data migration and integrations with other systems. After data has been migrated to your new system, another round of testing will occur and if needed, additional modifications will be made. At this point, you may also wish for us to train the end-users to ensure a smooth transition to the new system.

Rich Coulombre
Rich has been a long-time FileMaker author, developer, and trainer. He has written the best-selling book Special Edition: Using FileMaker Pro from Que Publishing and has been the recipient of two FileMaker Excellence Awards. He has been a featured speaker at many industry trade shows over the years, including the FileMaker Developer Conference, MacWorld Expo, and Seybold Seminars. Rich is the reason the rest of the management team joined The Support Group.
Cathy Harper
Cathy has been with The Support Group since 2006, beginning in accounting and now running the business operations at TSG. Her OCD-like attention to detail is what keeps our ship running smoothly. She believes our top-notch developers and system engineers make TSG successful because they genuinely care about our clients. Cathy enjoys spending time with family, walking her yellow labs, playing with her grandchildren, and experimenting with new recipes.
Karstyn McCoy
Karstyn has been developing FileMaker solutions since v3 and has been with The Support Group since 2007, starting as a developer and then moving up the ranks. At TSG, he has worked with clients in almost all industries to help them streamline operations, optimize workflows, and allow greater insight into their business operations. He enjoys creating cocktails, craft beer, gardening, building, tinkering, and learning new things.
